DanceAbility
DanceAbility is a community learning and engagement programme tailored for individuals with learning difficulties, limited mobility, or disabilities. This programme is designed to cater to those who may not be able to access mainstream provisions or find it challenging to embrace exercise through conventional methods. Adapting dance and fitness programmes to meet specific needs is crucial for engaging these individuals in the learning process. We believe it is essential to recognise participants as 'active partners' in their learning journey.
Our goal is to enable individuals to engage in creative dance and movement, learn new skills, and develop their artistic and creative abilities while improving their health, wellbeing, and happiness. The programmes aim to raise awareness of diversity and disability, promoting acceptance and understanding of others. Through dance sessions, participants engage in positive activities that foster social inclusion and contribute to stronger community cohesion.
Participants have the opportunity to access and enjoy physical activities in a safe and stimulating environment, where their contributions and ideas are acknowledged and valued.
