Step Forward
The Step Forward and Dance course is designed for adults aged 18 and above. It is an adult learning programme intended to be delivered in communities and Further Education establishments across the UK. The activity programmes serve as a useful tool for breaking down barriers, building self-esteem, diverting from anti-social activities, and integrating communities. Positive engagement through these programmes contributes significantly to the development of skills, helping people take responsibility for their actions and develop positive relationships with others.
Health and physical well-being needs are addressed through engaging and dynamic forms of exercise, enabling participants to have fun, improve physical fitness, and boost self-esteem. Participants are taught elements of various dance disciplines not only to enhance skills and knowledge of dance but also to encourage the development of the psychology and physiology necessary for embracing physical exercise as part of everyday life.
Dance brings people together to celebrate the uniqueness and achievements of each individual. When individuals engage in positive activities, community needs are also met. This has a beneficial impact on participants, such as increased community cohesion, reduced isolation, and improved resilience.
