Updates at North East Dance
Small and frequent updates we share with our visitors and customers
This week we have been successful in obtaining funding from CDCF to work with The Deafened Group based in Stanley. The funding will enable a small group of older people with moderate to severe hearing impairments to attend seated exercise/dance sessions.

Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of everyone we work with. As the spread of coronavirus, known as COVID-19, continues to be a growing concern across the country, we are taking extra precautions to protect you, our team and the communities we serve. We are monitoring the situation and are in close contact with health authorities and local authorities to ensure we're acting on the latest guidance and information. I can confirm that no member of the team has been ill or needed to self-isolate but we are now currently operating on a significantly reduced timetable until further notice Keeping You Informed We're committed to keeping you informed through this rapidly changing situation and will regularly post updates Thank you Dolly and the NED Team

Due to the effects of the Covid 19 Pandemic. All face to face and group delivery is currently suspended. We are now developing a range of online platforms for delivery to our most vulnerable grouse and for those in isolation. All updates will be posted as soon as possible and can also be found on our Facebook page. We ask for your patience while we make all necessary changes. If you are already enrolled on one of our courses in County Durham we are looking at ways to enable those courses to continue and will have a further update by Monday April 6th. All participants will be contacted directly! We ask all participants and clients to follow the guidelines set by the Government to support the NHS and save lives: • Stay at home • Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home) • If you go out, stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at all times • Wash your hands as soon as you get home • Do not meet others, even friends or family. You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms. • Most importantly please stay safe

We have received some lovely feedback about one of our new instructors Emily Nicholson. Emily has just joined our team and can teach a wide range of dance and fitness styles. Emily taught at the 'Golden Games' on Thursday 23rd January which was an event provided by Newcastle Eagles and we were informed- 'A few participants mentioned how adaptable Emily was with those who arrived with dementia and were frailer than others. They were very impressed with how she adapted the session to ensure everybody was involved.' Great work Emily! Welcome to the team!!

Each week the course covers a new fun topic and there is also lots of popular nursery rhymes for both adults and toddlers to dance too.
